Role Overview

Due to STRYDEs continued growth we are looking to grow our field support team with a particular focus on the Latin American market. The suitable candidate will get the opportunity to work with our world class field operations team and support STRYDE’s continued advancements in nodal technology. In this role you will assist with setting up the equipment ahead of the survey, training seismic acquisition staff and then providing both in field and remote support once the survey has started. Alongside this, you will also be involved heavily in ensuring our products are fit for purpose by performing rigorous testing – both in the lab and in the field. 

What you will do

  • Train and assist STRYDE’s customers how to use our STRYDE systems to plan, manage and monitor surveys in the field. 

  • Help STRYDE’s customers to set up and operate our land seismic acquisition equipment. 

  • Assist the customer with equipment tests, confirming our products are working within specification

  • Help trouble shoot and resolve system issues, providing both in-field and remote support to our clients

  • Testing and qualification of new hardware and software technology prior to deployment into the field, including design and execution of field tests for new technology

  • Gather ideas for future improvements and functionality with customers 

  • Help deliver demonstrations and field trials of our products with potential customers

  • Frequent travel to field sites for extended periods of time 

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualifications: Engineering/ Geophysics or IT based qualification preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in land seismic crew technical support or instrumentation support role 
  • Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese/ English
  • Extensive experience of onshore seismic acquisition 
  • Strong expertise in setting up and operating land seismic recording equipment (preferably nodal), with extensive expertise in using central system software packages. 
  • Experience with onshore source technology (vibroseis, explosive, impulsive source and controllers) 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues to find the root cause 
  • Ability to provide training to seismic acquisition staff – overcoming any potential issues 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision or support from the office 
  • Willing to travel often, sometimes with very short notice. 

Given the nature of this role, we are looking for a competent and field-experienced Instrument Support Technician who will enjoy working within an exceptionally experienced team of onshore seismic field technical support engineers. The successful candidate will be eager to learn about the latest STRYDE seismic technology and equipment and be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
